When the Sydney team of Amazing Fencing heard the hardship facing the Hardaker family, there was no question that Amazing Fencing would help out in any way that we could.
Vanessa Hardaker is a mother to three beautiful children, and as of May last year, a widow after losing her loving husband Mark in a tragic boating accident whilst they were on holiday in Fiji.
The impact and strain on the family has not only been emotional, but financial as well. Vanessa was a stay-at-home Mum and after the loss of her husband, had no income to support their family. This is when the Nine Network’s ‘A Current Affair’ program stepped in.
A project was set up requesting the volunteering of services and donations to renovate and refurnish the Hardaker’s family home.
Amongst the tradies who volunteered their time and materials were builders, cabinet makers, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, concreters and of course fencing contractors.
Amazing Fencing proudly contributed the materials and installation of new boundary fencing for their newly renovated home. Our team worked with other tradies around the clock to transform the Hardaker home and yard into something amazing.
The project instilled a sense of satisfaction in all of those who contributed. The sense of community around the project amongst the ACA production team, the sponsors, tradies, volunteers, friends, family and neighbours is something we will treasure for a long time to come.
The end result of the two-week transformation was more than any of us ever anticipated. The Hardaker family has been left with a $600,000 home made with helpful hands and open hearts. Our thoughts continue with the Vanessa, Georgia, Sam and Jake as they embrace their new home and can hopefully look towards the future in a more positive light.
